Compassion Connect: We create and share models of compassionate outreach that unify The Church, locally, to serve their neighbors as an authentic expression of God’s love. Portland has a high incident rate per capita for the sexual victimization of women, teens, and children in the United States. We believe that God has placed His Church in the center of this moral devastation to be agents of His grace in bringing healing and freedom to those trapped in, and by, this depravity. We know that local churches working together with civic organizations can significantly impact this destructive victimization. To learn more, visit www.compassionconnect.com.
The Father’s Heart Street Ministry: The Father’s Heart Street Ministry operates out of a 5000 sq. ft. facility in Oregon City. Founder, Teri Gant, spends her life serving Jesus through feeding the hungry and giving clothing to the homeless. Loving all just where they are. Teri spent her early years walking under bridges and down muddy paths looking for the homeless, just so she could share the love of Jesus with them through her actions. Today, her passion continues, as she opens her doors every morning to the homeless to come into TFH as a safe refuge, where they rest, shower, sleep, eat a warm meal and rest in the peaceful presence of the Lord. Still sending her street teams of volunteers to the street delivering warmth and food. To learn more, visit www.tfhstreetministry.com.
Echo Ranch: We are a faith-based, 501(c)3 organization dedicated to offering an environment of support and encouragement, which restores the heart, soul, and mind, and strengthens individuals and their families. Our desire is to offer each guest at our ranch the awareness that they are a unique and irreplaceable person, loved by God, who has an amazing plan and purpose for their life. To learn more, contact Dorine Nickerson firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.echo-ranch.org.

Night Strike is a community gathering that mobilizes volunteers/services, meets felt needs, and develops relationships that transform lives. It is a unique opportunity for people to spend time under the Burnside Bridge every Thursday night to love people because people matter. It is an opportunity for members of Portland’s homeless community to hang out, enjoy a hot meal, receive a free haircut or shave, have their feet washed and have their old shoes/clothes/sleeping bags replaced. It is also a chance for you to come down and share in the experience, help serve the needs of the homeless in our community, and more importantly, invest in lives and build relationships with the people you meet. To find out more, visit bpmpdx.org.

Blake Shelley - East County Young Life Capernaum Team Leader
Blake Shelley is an East County Young Life Capernaum Team Leader in the Portland area. Young Life Capernaum is a program for kids and young adults with disabilities. Young people with disabilities — like their able-bodied peers — have hopes and dreams, needs and fears. However, many of them feel isolated, and like they have no one to share their struggles with and no one to encourage them and help them be all God designed them to be. Young Life Capernaum helps fill the void many of these young people face. Capernaum gives kids and young adults with disabilities the chance to have fun, make friends, and develop self-esteem. Along the way, they learn more about the Christian faith and share life and friendship with their Young Life Leader. Blake is home-grown and raised by Abundant Life Church. He considers ALC to be his home (or sending) church. Visit portlandeastcapernaum.younglife.org or email email@example.com for more information.
