The Story of ALC
Abundant Life Church was founded in June 1989 by Pastor George Powell and his wife, Ann, at the invitation of the Northwest Christian Evangelistic Association.
The church originally met at Pleasant Valley Elementary School, and then moved to the Seventh Day Adventist building on 172nd, where the church held services for over 11 years. In 1995 the church purchased 11 acres on SE 172nd and Hemrich Road and in March of 2004, the church moved into it’s first permanent facility. Completion of phase 2 in June of 2007 provided a new children’s and student ministries facility, as well as expanded lobby space. An additional five acres of adjoining land to the Happy Valley campus was acquired in 2013, allowing the potential for future expansion.
In October of 2010, Abundant Life launched a second campus in Sandy, Oregon. The Sandy Campus is located off Hwy 26 on Campion Way. Following this, in April of 2014 ALC launched a Vancouver Campus that is now located on NE Fourth Plain Blvd.
In August 2017, Abundant Life Church welcomed its new Lead Pastor Jeremy Jernigan, his wife Michelle, and their family.
More importantly than where we’ve been, however, is where we are going! We celebrate what God has done in the past but look forward with even greater anticipation to all He wants to do through us in the future.
